I rather spend a week tweaking a patch than having an over processed sound I can't work with. I never upgraded to the X3 for this reason. For exmaple, I don't use the same patches for live or studio work my triple rectifier patch I use for Pantera/Metallica/etc, live patch sounds like pure crap and thin in the studio.

The XT sounds more natural but is quite a bit more of a pain to use since you have to take your time to tweak your patches and even more important if you have more than one specific uses. The POD X3 is more 'user friendly' in the sens that it is easier to get a good sound out of it but the sounds are more 'processed', if you hear the X3 alone you won't really notice unless you have a bionic hear or something.īut play back to back the 'same' patch on the X3 and next on the XT and the difference will be striking. You think the the older XT and UX converters sound better than the X3 and UX8 converters? that's the first I've heard of that.
